Evolution of K-pop is a pop-up exhibition that introduces the history and global influence of K-pop through an immersive spatial experience designed for both fans and newcomers. Inspired by the structure of a concert stage, the installation guides visitors along a clockwise path that unfolds the story of K-pop through five informational panels.
The exhibition begins with “What is K-pop?”, introducing key terminology and cultural context with imagery of BTS. The following section, “From Seoul,” presents a timeline of K-pop’s development and generational shifts.
Additional panels explore K-pop’s international growth, including its appearance on global charts such as the Billboard Hot 100, and its expansion into digital spaces including animation, virtual performances, and online platforms.
At the center of the stage is a red-carpet-inspired photo zone, while the final K-pop Playlist Corner invites visitors to answer a short questionnaire that generates a personalized playlist. The experience concludes with a photobooth that prints a collectible card inspired by K-pop photocards, creating an interactive and memorable conclusion to the exhibition.
